Dubai Cycling
Bluecast Technologies developed the Dubai Cycling App for the Dubai Sports Council to promote cycling as a fitness activity in Dubai. The app, designed for cyclists of all levels, combines fitness tracking with social interaction to create an engaging experience. It allows users to explore cycling tracks in Dubai, follow other cyclists, and create clubs and challenges.
The app’s performance tracking feature gives cyclists access to detailed reports on their rides, including distance covered, average and peak speeds, and calories burned. These metrics are displayed in visually appealing formats to help users track their progress. Cyclists can map their routes, share photos, and post updates to their followers.
A unique aspect of the app is its integration with external devices such as Garmin and TacX. When connected to TacX, the app enables a multi-user game simulation where up to five cyclists can participate in a virtual 2 km sprint through a 3D model of Dubai streets. The app also features 2D simulations of various Dubai cycling tracks.
